Potentate Leslie (Les) Dikes The Potentate is, essentially, the President of our Shrine Chapter and is elected annually by the shrine members to lead our efforts. He is responsible to the Imperial Divan for the proper government of his Shrine Chapter and to ensure that officers and nobles observe Shrine Laws and the By-Laws of his Shrine Center. He is also responsible for the appointment of certain Shrine Officers and Committeemen, as well as the oversight of the same. Biography Chief Rabban James R. Targett The Chief Rabban is the 1st Vice President and assists the Potentate in his duties, standing in as his replacement if he is unavailable. He is also Chairman of the Finance and Fundraising Committees and prepares a budget for the ensuing year and submits it to the members for approval at the Shrine Center's Annual Meeting. He also assists the Hospital Chairman, as needed, and performs other duties as requested by the Potentate. Biography Assistant Rabban Raul Amor The Assistant Rabban is the 2nd Vice President and assists the Chief Rabban in his duties, standing in as a replacement if the Potentate and Chief Rabban are unavailable. He is also Vice Chairman of the Finance and Fundraising Committees and assists the Hospital Chairman, as needed, and can perform other duties as requested by the Potentate. Biography High Priest and Prophet John T. McCorkle The High Priest and Prophet is the 3rd Vice President and serves as the invocationist in the absence of the Chaplain. He aids Assistant Rabban and can perform other duties as requested by the Potentate. Biography Oriental Guide TBD The Oriental Guide is the 4th Vice President and is in charge of fraternal relations by assisting with outreach to Blue Lodges, York and Scottish Rites, Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile, DeMolay, and the Widows Sons. He aids High Priest and Prophet and can perform other duties as requested by the Potentate. Biography Recorder James Boicie The Recorder acts as the Corporate Secretary and recorder of all Divan and Shrine meetings and votes, ensuring that all aspects of our Shirne Center's operations are consistent with the rules, bylaws, and mandates of Shriners International. He also is the primary business manager of the Shrine Center, providing oversight, direction, and coordination of our office operations and staff. Biography Treasurer Jonathan (Jonno) Evans The Treasurer oversees all our Shrine Center's & Hospital finances, investments, and accounts under the control of our Shrine Chapter and ensures proper accounting of the same. Biography Meet The Divan Members The Divan Members are the Elected Shrine Leadership Board of Directors Potentate – This is the Chairman of the Board. It is an elected position. The Nobles, who are members, vote annually for their choice of Potentate. Chief Rabban – 1st Vice President. As with the Potentate, this is also an elected position. Assistant Rabban – 2nd Vice President. This is also an elected position. High Priest and Prophet – 3rd Vice President. Another elected position. Oriental Guide – 4th Vice President – Yet another elected position. Treasurer - Disburses approved funds Recorder - Serves as secretary to the board, and conducts day-to-day operations and much more. The elected Board of Directors is the management team of our Shrine Chapter.

We spend plenty of our time together at many Shrine Activities and we enjoy that family time. Henry I wanted to be a Shriner because I saw my dad and grandfather in it and how happy it made them. I enjoyed the special outtings together just have fun for a good purpose. John Hi I got the first hand to see how the Shriners work with Shriners Children because my child is one of Shriners Children's and they made a complete difference in his life. Thank you Shriners for all that you do. Mary Jane I am a Shriners wife and I get to see what my husband loves to do and I enjoy those special outings with all his friends. Potentate The Potentate is, essentially, the President of our Shrine Chapter and is elected annually by the shrine members to lead our efforts. He is responsible to the Imperial Divan for the proper government of his Shrine Chapter and to ensure that officers and nobles observe Shrine Laws and the By-Laws of his Shrine Center. He is also responsible for the appointment of certain Shrine Officers and Committeemen, as well as the oversight of the same. Potentate Les Dikes has been instrumental in promoting Shrinedom in Australia and has successfully contributed to the formation of a new temple. Leslie (Les) Dikes 2026 Born in England during the Second World War, his family moved to Kenya after the war ended. Les completed his education in Kenya and then began his two years national service in the Kenya Regiment at the age of 18. Whilst in the regiment he became a member of the boxing team and fought many tournaments on their behalf, winning more than his fair share. On completing his national service, Les and his older brother Sid, spent three years “in-country” working for the Wildlife Department trapping animals throughout East Africa, Uganda and the Congo for various Zoos etc around the world. In 1965 Les emigrated to Australia, settling in Victoria, where he worked for TAA (Trans Australia Airlines) until his retirement several years ago. Les became a Freemason in 1988, a member of the Holy Royal Arch (HRA) in 1997, a member of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite (Scottish Constitution) in 2003 and a foundation member of the Melbourne Shrine Club in 2010. He is the current First Principal of his HRA Chapter and the immediate Past President of Melbourne Shrine Club, having served in that position on three occasions. He is the ceremonial Potentate for the Melbourne Shrine Club Ceremonial Team and has travelled to Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales in that capacity to carry out the ceremony. Les has worked tirelessly within the Melbourne Shrine Club and as an executive member of Shriners Australia to promote Shrinedom across the continent with the goal us forming our own temple, which we have now done.
